primeiraplateia.pt founder and maker · product 2016 → live
A Cultura no melhor lugar. Portugal's cultural agenda in one place: over 1,500 events on show, across 77 venues in 33 municipalities — every district and autonomous region.
I made it because I love theatre and could never find out what was on: the national listings used to live scattered across each company's and each venue's own site.
Filter by day, by free admission and by accessibility. Follow artists and venues. Weekly newsletter.
Born in 2016 as EmCena.pt, a listings site for Lisbon theatre. Renamed and relaunched in 2026, now nationwide.
A pipeline of my own collects and normalises the listings, venue by venue; the final pass is mine.
I founded it, I run it, I built it.

A house run like a company: calendar and tasks, contacts and contracts, wallet and cash flow, credit, utilities, taxes, shopping and transport.
I made it as an answer to a problem of autonomy: putting building work, equipment upkeep, animal appointments — vaccines and the like — and home automation in one place, and on the phone. Each module works like an app; they are all connected.

Noite a solo Fábio Salgado 2016
A solo night at Quartas da Palavra, the weekly word evening at Sagrada Família. A programme of my own, between paper books, a phone, video, documentary and sung music — from Carlos Paredes to Zeca Medeiros, Tom Zé, Beatriz Azevedo and Alberto Pimenta. The 9 readings are the original files of what esquerda.net published — the podcast feed no longer serves them, which is why they live here. The 2 films came from the Transborda page. Of the 3 pieces performed on stage no recording survives — what is left are whatever pictures there were, and the page of whoever hosted them or wrote about them. The voice is mine; the texts and the pieces belong to those who made them, and every entry links to its source.

Public affairs consultant · ATREVIA 2022 →
I follow the Portuguese legislative and regulatory process and design the response: whom to talk to, when, and with what.
From advice to delivery, for clients across sectors — regulation, institutional relations, communication with decision-makers.
I map who decides and who influences, working with teams across disciplines.

Adviser to the councillor for Culture, Housing, Human Rights and Social Rights.
Legislative analysis, reports, motions and proposals — from framing to final wording.
Alongside that, the office's communications and social media, and producing the events those areas ran.

privacy/
No cookies, no advertising, no profiles. What follows is what actually exists.
- controller
- Fábio Salgado, in a personal capacity. The contact is in the contact node.
- what data
- Server logs: IP address, browser and time. A cookieless measurement of visits: page, referrer, country, system and device type, with the visit identified by a cryptographic digest of the request. And whatever you write to me.
- what for
- To serve the page, keep it up and know how many people read it. None of it feeds advertising, profiles or automated decisions.
- how long
- A visit’s identifier lasts 24 hours. Server logs follow the host’s retention. Whatever you write to me stays as long as the conversation makes sense.
- who else handles it
- Vercel, which hosts and measures, as a processor. Nobody else: the page makes not a single third-party request.
- your rights
- Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability: write to the address above. If I do not resolve it, you may complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
-
accessibility/
Audited on 20 August 2026 against WCAG 2.2, level AA. Partially conformant: the exceptions are named below, one by one.
- checked automatically
- Before every release, a battery of checks runs over every page, in both themes, with the tree closed and open, and blocks it if anything turns up: axe-core end to end, contrast computed from the colours, the whole tree opening and closing with JavaScript off, the video captions checked against each film’s length, the new-window warning on every link that leaves the site — in the arrow, for those who see it, and in the accessible name, for those who do not — and the page walked by tabbing, key by key, with no element holding the focus.
- measured by hand
- What a tool cannot see: reflow at 320px with no horizontal bar, the standard’s text spacing with nothing clipped, every small target with the 24px separation the standard asks for, and the focus ring at 11:1 in the light theme and 8.9:1 in the dark.
- what does not conform
- The nine readings have no transcript (criterion 1.2.1): they are texts by other authors, published by esquerda.net, and every entry links to its source page — putting the full text here would be republishing it. The two films now carry captions and a written transcript, but not a description of what is on screen (1.2.3 and 1.2.5): describing footage I did not shoot would be inventing it.
- what this is not
- An independent audit. It was done by the person who built the site, with an open tool and a described method, and all of it is in the repository for anyone who wants to repeat it or prove it wrong. A third-party audit is a different thing, and there is none.
- if you hit a barrier
- Write to the address in the contact node. Say what you were trying to do and with what tool; I fix it and tell you when it is done.
